Session
Powering the Future Workforce: Nuclear Energy as a Catalyst for Skills, Innovation, and Sustainable Development
Session Abstract
Nuclear power is a strategic driver of workforce development, creating demand for highly skilled professionals in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while supporting industrialisation and economic growth. By providing reliable, low-carbon baseload electricity, it strengthens key sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, and technology. As Kenya advances plans to introduce nuclear energy, there is an urgent need to develop a skilled workforce capable of supporting the sector across its entire value chain. This session discusses Kenya's preparedness for nuclear power adoption and its implications for workforce development.
