Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for, attending, or otherwise participating in the WODE 2026 Convening ("WODE 2026 Convening", "the Event"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not accept these Terms, you must not register for or attend the Event.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Women in Oral Development Ecosystems (WODE) Kenya ("we", "us", "the Organiser"). We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered attendees and updated on this page with a revised effective date.
2. Event Information
The WODE 2026 Convening will be held on 3–5 August 2026 at Weston Hotel, Lang'ata Road, Nairobi, Kenya. The Event brings together educators, policymakers, and practitioners to explore the theme "From Classroom Competency to Workforce Impact".
Attendance is subject to available capacity. The Organiser reserves the right to alter venue, dates, or programme content where circumstances beyond our reasonable control make this necessary.
3. Registration & Payment
Registration is complete only upon receipt of full payment or an approved written waiver from the Organiser. Ticket prices are displayed in United States Dollars (USD) and may be subject to applicable taxes.
All payments are processed through our secure payment provider. We do not store card details. You are responsible for ensuring payment details are accurate. If a payment fails, your registration will not be confirmed until payment is successfully completed.
Group bookings of five (5) or more delegates may qualify for a discount. Please contact us at info@wodeconvening.org for group rates.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to info@wodeconvening.org.
- More than 30 days before the Event: Full refund less a 10% administrative fee.
- 15–30 days before the Event: 50% refund.
- Less than 15 days before the Event: No refund. Registration may be transferred to another named delegate at no charge.
In the event of cancellation by the Organiser, registered attendees will receive a full refund of fees paid. The Organiser is not liable for any other costs incurred by attendees, including travel or accommodation expenses.
5. Code of Conduct
All attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and staff are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully. We are committed to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, religion, or other personal characteristics.
Harassment, intimidation, or discriminatory behaviour in any form will not be tolerated. Attendees in violation of this code may be removed from the Event without refund at the sole discretion of the Organiser.
6. Intellectual Property
All content presented at the Event — including presentations, materials, and handouts — is the intellectual property of the respective speakers or the Organiser. You may not reproduce, distribute, or publish any Event content without prior written consent from the content owner.
The WODE name, logos, and branding are the exclusive property of Women in Oral Development Ecosystems (WODE) Kenya. Use of these marks without written authorisation is prohibited.
7. Photography & Recording
By attending the Event you grant the Organiser a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use photographs, video recordings, or audio recordings taken at the Event in which you appear, for purposes including but not limited to marketing, publications, and social media.
If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded, please notify the registration desk upon arrival and we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request. Attendees may not record keynote sessions or workshops without the prior written consent of the speaker.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Organiser shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your attendance at or inability to attend the Event.
The Organiser's total liability to you for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount of the registration fee paid by you for the Event.
The Organiser is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings at the Event venue. Attendees attend at their own risk and are encouraged to obtain appropriate personal travel and health insurance.
9. Changes to the Programme
The Organiser reserves the right to modify, substitute, or cancel sessions, speakers, or activities without prior notice. Such changes do not constitute grounds for a refund unless the entire Event is cancelled by the Organiser.
10. Data & Privacy
Your personal data is collected and processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By registering, you consent to the processing of your data as described therein.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kenya.
